The Wendy Williams Show comes to an end after nearly 14 years on air.
The season finale was hosted by Sheri Shepherd, filling in for Wendy who is dealing with a conservatorship issue that is blocking her access to her own money.
June 17th 2022 marks the end of her long time running and unorthodox talk show. The show started with Wendy but ended with Sherri.
It’s been reported that Wendy has not left her home. It’s also been reported by the SUN that her memorabilia: her purple chair, wigs …will be thrown in the trash.
At the end of the show, RAINMAKERNYC talked to a devoted fan about the show ending; the fan responded the same way every other Wendy fan feels, it would have been nice to have had Wendy close her show.
RAINMAKERNYC also caught up with NORMAN, Norman took his time and answered a few questions, did not speak too much of Wendy. He revealed Sherri’s show is coming mid-September this year so 15 or 16 of September 2022.
When asked how the day was?
Norman responds “ it was bittersweet; I am so sad but also so happy to be moving on to Sherri but Wendy was the BEST. I will miss her so much. I’m gonna miss working with her.”
When asked if he’s spoken to Wendy, Norman responds: Heumm, “no I actually haven’t; I haven’t spoken with her but I’m sure she’s doing well.”
When asked if Wendy Williams was invited to the After party, Norman laughs and says : “ I actually don’t know, I have no idea, I have no idea who’s gonna be there I just know I’m gonna be there and I’m gonna be tipsy. That’s all I know.”
SUSAN, the producer on the other hand snubbed RAINMAKERNYC; did not say a word and walked off.
It’s the end of an era.
The future of Wendy as we see it, is first of all, for her to get better, regain her finances and return not necessarily on TV but in podcast format similar to what Howard Stern has going on. With the help of Youtube, it will be just like she’s never left.
She would be so much better off, plus she gets to own 100% of her show. Speaking of that, Jason Lee, the Culture Critic, from Hollywood Unlocked shared a post earlier this week revealing an Instagram page @THEREALWENDYWILLIAMSONLINE
Not sure if this is Wendy who requested this or simply Jason’s way of encouraging Wendy to return to some form of Talk Show. We know Jason has been very vocal defending Wendy.
