Bling Empire star Dorothy Wang and Ari Kourkoumelis broke up! The reason? Incompatibility!
We were first introduced to Dorothy Wang in Bling Empire Los Angeles, a show that follows wealthy Asian & Asian American around, as they go about their day spending, partying and traveling. Dorothy Wang did not seem to get along with Kane Lim, who is also a cast member of Bling Empire LA, nor did she seem to get along with Christine Chiu. We saw Dorothy move from LA to NY in season 2, episode 8.
Dorothy then became the star of Bling Empire New York. In season 1, she and her castmates went to the Bahamas. At first Dorothy was playing matchmaker for her friend Tina Leung, but she ended up catching feelings for Ari. Ari happens to be a New Yorker born and raised; Ari also happens to live in New York. So when both Ari and Dorothy returned to New York, they continued seeing each other. In fact, they went on a fun pizza date, typical in New York. Though we know they never put a label on their relationship, they both seem to be very attracted to each other; Dorothy even met Ari’s dad. Dorothy and Ari would text all the time.
It seems Dorothy who is 35 and Ari 31 only dated for a couple of months after season 1 wrapped and they went their separate ways after that sometime in spring 2021, according to Page Six. The reason for their breakup “incompatibility”.
Dorothy turned 35 last weekend; she posted a slide show with the caption : “ best way to kick off 35! so happy to have all my best friends together! we had so much fun just dancing in my living room 🥹🖤♠️ ”
Who is Dorothy Wang?
Dorothy is a Rich Kid born in Beverly Hills. Her parents are Roger and Viviene Wang. The father is a self -made billionaire from Taiwan. He made his fortune building condos around Los Angeles according to Forbes. He is also the founder and Chairman for Golden Eagle International, which is a real estate firm that builds malls and office buildings in China. Roger is currently worth over 3 billion dollars, according to Forbes. He made the Forbes list in 2022 as the 835th wealthiest person in the world.
Dorothy was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. She went to prestigious schools including the University of Southern California. However, she did try to find her own path by making her own money. She has a real estate license, and even worked for Mauricio Umansky’s Realty Agency. Mauricio happens to be RHOBH Kyle Richards’ husband.
This is not Dorothy’s first time in reality TV; she did appear in Rich Kids of Beverly Hills, Famously Single, and now the Bling Empire franchise.
When it came to Dorthy’s relationship with Kane Lim, it seems their parents know of each other due to their circle. Kane has been trying to meet Dorothy for quite some time as per Bling Empire Los Angeles, but Dorothy is not interested in such a meeting. Dorothy even got ambushed into meeting Kane in Bling Empire LA and that did not go well. Kane ended up leaving.
In Dorothy’s words : “ Kane has been trying to get lunch since 2011, and I’d rather fast for 87 days straight. “
